Good one -- love that alliteration! :thumbup:

 

What did Art do for your Pelikan(s)? Did he stub any of them? Did he do any Tomahawks on them?

Howdy!! I did work on two of Amber's Pelikans. One is a M200 factory stub that was bulbous and had baby bottom, I re-ground it a bit to make it more of a true stub. The other was a broad 14kt M400 nib that I stubbed. Pelikans would be difficult to Tomahawk, for one the nib would have to be removed from the feed assembly, and the nibs are somewhat small. So the modification would not look as cool as it does on larger #5 or #6 nibs.

You're welcome! Art hasn't stubbed any TWSBIs of mine (I only have one as of now - soon to be remedied! I have my eye on a Diamond 580 Rose Gold to go with my white Mini). He did the Tomahawk on a Nussbaum Phoenix M and stubbed an Edison EF (which I hated until Art worked his magic) to a F - FM and a Delta M. I also have a Sheaffer Javelin M he stubbed and he has five or six of my Estie nibs that need work. I'll be sending him a few more Estie nibs after the holidays, mostly for smoothing.

Those Javelins are AWESOME.

Ditto! Many of my new (bought in the 90's) pens are F, a couple of M, but the stubbed and Italic's are starting to steal my heart. Most medium pens are now boring to me, lol.

 

TWSBI's are pretty stinkin' cool and I may have to figure out how to get one next year!

 

...En-a-blers!!!! :P

So, what's your point?

I don't mean to sound like a broken record but a M Tomahawk and an Art-ed stub M are glorious things. :wub: I think they ended up as M-Bs. But I agree - italics are awesome! My first pens were Fs, too; now, most of the time when I use a plain F, I think "where's the ink?"

For the last 30 days I have had the pleasure of using not one but two of Amber's loaners. A amber 540 with Tomahawk B stub and a clear 580 with Tomahawk 1.1 by Art.

 

A clear 580 with B nib just arrived for me today. It currently has Diamine Steel Blue in it. Now, do I send the nib to Art or not? That is what is next to determine.

If you are happy right now, leave it alone, buy a second nib and have that one done. Then you can compare and contrast.

This looks like a lot of fun and I would like to be part of it. I've been using mostly Pilot Metros and a beater MB. Been hearing good things about TWSBI, but just couldn't quite go for them. Perhaps a good enabling here might do the trick?
