Notebook Snobs In Manchester - I've Found Somewhere Very Special!

Just a quick post for anyone who lives in the vicinity of Manchester in the UK.

Fred Aldous in Stevenson Square sells a huge array of quality notebooks, including Field Notes, Rhodia and Leuchturm. All different sizes and paper types (dots, grids, lines, plain).

Paperchase used to be my 'go to' shop, but I have found the selection becoming narrower over the past couple of years. I also prefer non-lined paper, which seems to be difficult to source on the high street.

However, I have now found a haven of paper-based loveliness and its only a 15 minute walk from home for me. :D

Their website is http://fredaldous.co.uk and they are also on Twitter @fredaldous and the whole range of social media channels.

Damn & Blast ! Just got in from King St. Manchester and would have had a wander around there if I had read your post sooner.

Anyway I know where they are now so next time its a definite.

The true definition of madness - Doing the same thing everyday and expecting different results......

Until a couple of years ago lived in Manchester for 10 years and, to my shame, have never heard of Fred Aldous. And now I know they have all sorts of cool things there.

Will make a point of passing through there next time I'm in town. Thanks for the tip off!

Fred Aldous, that takes me back a bit. I used to live at Withington and haunt King Street, Stevenson Square and the like. But back to the point - paper. I picked up some Aisling school note books in a bookshop in Neenagh, Co Offlay Ireland when I was over there last year. It was old stock so very cheap, it says 'suitable for fountain pen' on the covers. I bought several so that I can practise my handwriting on cheap paper. Amazing what you find in the most unlikely places.
