Knives And Fountain Pens

Recommended Posts

Just thought I'd put two of my "loves" together. :) I recognize a few of y'all from other forums, so this might be fun. I think I started an "everyday carry" thread a couple of years ago, but I'd have to go dig that up.

Not a FP, but the colors looked pretty. Case Toothpick + Parker Jotter (USA)

Your turn! :)

This is tempting me to break out an actual camera and buy a new SD card.

This is the first time I touched my camera in nearly a year! haha! :D And.... I've never quite got the hang of it. Pentax Q. :)

Nice topic...

Laguiole en Aubrac and Safety Special 8 de Bayard

I've never seen a handle on a Laguiole like that! Very nice. :D

Can anyone post a picture of a Spyderco manbug or mini knife with a pen? Looking to buy something to open the all too frequent packages that arrive and would be interested in the relative size of these knives :)

I've never seen a handle on a Laguiole like that! Very nice. :D

When I saw it some fifteen years ago at the Laguiole beautiful shop in Paris (close to Place de Vosges), I though of a rattlesnake and could not avoid buying it... I started a very modest knife collection...

They go so well with pens. !!! Thanks for the topic, I am sure many people will add theirs...

I'm not a knife collector, but I love the old slip-joint designs.

Here's an overview of my pens and knives. I've got other photos uploading.

That would be great, thanks

:) Please excuse the lighting and background. It's almost 10pm here and there's nowhere to take photos except in the kitchen. haha!

The Spyderco Clip-It Tool (top) is just about the same in size as the Man Bug. Mine specifically has the scissors (it also comes with the option of a secondary serrated blade or a bottle opener/flat head). Below it is the smaller Ladybug. :) The pens compared here are the Parker Jotter BP and Hero 616 "Doctor."

IMGP1791.JPG

Slightly larger. The Benchmade Mini Griptilian (top) and Victorinox Cadet (bottom), compared to the Hero 616. The Cadet is a wonderful tool and quite slim. :D

IMGP1793.JPG

Opinel No. 7 (top; excuse the tape and markings, I was gonna dremel it down), Case Toothpick (middle), Case Russlock (bottom), compared to a Pilot Prera and Parker Jotter BP.

:) Hope that helps a little. I tried to show only my smaller knives and pens that people are more likely to be familiar with.

Cheers!

Cheers mooshi - that is indeed very helpful

I rather like the cadet, it looks very practical.

The Cadet is a wonderful tool! Slim and practical indeed, with a beautiful (in my opinion) design to boot.
