Pilot Custom 823

The 823 is available with a couple of non-standard nib choices, I got an FA nib 823 from here:

Hmmm... The "Quill" Pen Shop in Japan. They are unique in this offering the CH823/CH845 with FA or WA nibs. You have to pay about $40-$50 over the regular price in-Japan for the pen and it can take a week or more to ship. Pilot officially still seems to refuse to "officially" sell the CH823 or CH845 with anything but F, M, & B #15 size nibs. So I don't know what's going on with this particular seller. Anyway, this seems to confirm the nibs are interchangeable with the CH743. Maybe someone else has the complete story?

That store seems to have a special relationship with Pilot,since they also offer a store exclusive color (Vermilion Urushi) of the Custom 845.

I've seen Dan Smith post on his forums about swapping his 743 FA into his 823, so it should be doable at home. It's worth noting that the guy who runs the Tokyo Quill shop is super nice and accommodating, and I had a great experience ordering from them. The extra price is worth it for the service and exclusivity of the product. Shipping was less than a week from Japan to California.
