My New Chest For My Pens

Thank you, Laura :)

They are Art Nouveau knife rests I found on a garage sale. I thought they would be great to separate the fountain pens from the dip nib pens (and add a little decorative effect, also ;) ).

Lovely idea and works beautifully.

Stunning. I love the color you chose for the trays.

I have a small chest I'm considering doing converting as well. After seeing this, I think I'll do just that. Where do you keep yours? Right now most of my pens are either in a pen case or in the drawer of a secretary in my living room. I love the idea of a designated pen chest, though.

Thank you again for the compliments Laura. :), and you too, Millefleurs.

My little chest is sitting on a small table I have next to my desk, Millefleurs.

Yes, I think it is nice to have all our pens gathered in one place: it allow us to give them equal attention, whereas in scattered boxes we allways forget one or two , or even more. ;)

:-) Very clever and impressive work.

Feel like looking for a chinese drawer chest like yours, but need your patience and talent to restaure it too !

A very nice job on repurposing the jewelry box and a very nice collection as well!

:yikes: WOW! The chest was beautiful before you starting repurposing, but the burgundy for the trays makes this an absolute stunner!! Way to go!

I like that you used the silver birds to separate the dips from the others. (No reference to any members inferred, not intentionally anyway! :P ) :D

You've a beautiful collection and the cabinet really is a wonderful way to store your pens! What a treasure chest!!!

So, what's your point?

I don't see any fountain pen, but your chinese chest is beautiful.

Thank you all for the compliments.

@Sasha Royale - you don't see any fountain pens. Do you means you don't see the photos where the chinese chest is finished and filled with the pens? At the top of this page?

A lovely chest filled with equally beautiful pens! The finished product is very nice indeed; congratulations!

Your cousin found it just in time; it is rather horrifying to think of all the lovely chests and pens and pen paraphernalia that have ended up discarded in landfills and trash heaps. I never seem to be in the right place at the right time to rescue such a thing. :( And, now that it is far too late, I can't help but wonder what things I may have thrown out through the years that would be perfect for repurposing for my new-old obsession with pens.

Glad this chest escaped its fate to be repurposed for your pen collection; you will enjoy it for years. And, hopefully, years from now, you will find someone amongst your friends or family who is appreciative of pens and antique boxes so that none of it ever ends up in the trash.

Thank you both. :)

@Holly, well I hope the one person who will get it, later on, will cherish it for what it is, and use well the pens. that is all I ask. ;)
