Kaweco Skyline Sport Nib Replacement

Hi all.

The nib on my Kaweco Skyline Sport isn't great - it's the standard broad nib issues - hard starting etc, probably due to baby bottom. I can't seem to find a replacement nib unit in my colour (mint), so my question is this - can I just buy an Ice Sport nib unit (I'll keep my chrome stylings thanks) and swap the nib over? The feed and nib are just friction fit and come out very easily.

There's no possibility of an exchange as I've just tried my hand at nib grinding...

Most Kawecos use the same nibs but I haven't heard of the Skyline model.

They're new, I think. To all intents and purposes, they're the same as the Classic and Ice Sport models. Arguably better looking though!

If they use the same nib as the Classic Sport then I think you could still use an AL Sport nib unit but would have to pull the nib from the nib/feed collar and then put it into your main pen (leaving you with a spare feed and collar for an AL Sport...).

That color you posted above with solid opaque nature to it does seem rather attractive, especially if it feels as solid and thick as they usually do.

Ta all. I bought an Ice Sport nib unit. Hopefully this'll stop the pen from languishing, uninked, in a drawer.

I agree that this line is better looking. I like this color in particular and I much prefer the rhodium-plated nib to the gold-plated ones.

Hope the Ice Sport nib works for you. However, don't throw away the one that you tried your hand at. If you ever go to a show, take it with you and let a nibmeister look at it. Maybe they could salvage it for you, perhaps turn it into a stub or something else esoteric. . .
