Replacement Clip For Tibaldi Iride

My recently-repaired, and much travelled Iride has lost some of the gold plating from the clip during its journeys.

 

I don't think the clip is 're-plateable' but I read that a couple of owners have had terminal failures of the celluloid barrels, and I wondered if anyone has a complete Iride cap or a fully-plated clip going spare? Please let me know if you have.

 

They are not common pens so i guess such spares will be hard to find ... I just thought it was worth an enquiry.

One problem is, I think, that the GP has not ALL come off, just a large 'strip' of it. I guess the whole clip would first need stripping-down to the underlying metal. which sounds like a job for an expert, not someone as ham-fisted as I

 

I'll be interested to hear what response you get, if any, from the jewellers.

No surprise there, IMO ... those sorts of enquiries tend to go into the 'Too Difficult' File (i.e. the round one)
