German Reform Rekord 18 - Kaputt!

A nice German pen from the 1940s: Reform Rekord 18. Piston filler, where tha piston shaft is removed from the pen after filling. Nice, never inked, original box and instruction sheet. Dead! Metal is corroded and the celluloid crazed. Too bad to see a nice and rare pen self destroy in this manner!

That is rough. It is hard to look at.

Oh, that's horrible.

 

On the other hand, with a lathe and a nice bit of old celluloid or modern acrylic, interesting things could now happen... though saving the piston is a lost cause.
