Italic Handwriting First Post

First time I'm posting a writing sample. The text is from Mr.James Pickering's website - which is my master resource for this kind of writing. (http://jp29.org/itbasics.htm). I just tried to copy one of the examples there.

Looks to me like you are doing very well!!!

 

The scan is somewhat fuzzy...Maybe you could reduce the size for a sharper picture the next time you post one.

Great job kivanck! It appears you have captured the spirit and form of my Italic handwriting very well -- especially my Majuscule letterforms. As Ann Finley points out, the photo is somewhat blurry -- I would love to see your rendition as a scanned exemplar reduced to fit the FPN window to preclude the need for scrolling.

Thanks for all these nice and encouraging comments. Especially wonderful to hear these from Mr.Pickering and Mrs.Finley -virtual penmanship teachers . I'll try to do what Mr.Pickering advised. Meanwhile whicj calligrpahic alphabets do you suggest to try besides this kind of italic?

I tried to clean up the original picture, but the image was pretty blurry... this is the best I could do... hope it helps

Kivanck, as far as a recommendation as to another calligraphic style to try, I'd say look at a number of them and simply choose what you like the looks of...You'll have the motivation to practice if you love the looks of the hand.
