It's Tines Like These...

I have a pen with an interesting tine alignment issue.

It's a used, vintage Pelikan MK30 with an OM nib. Basically the issue is that the pen seems to write best only when the tines are actually misaligned slightly.

 

I've straightened them out several times, looking through a 10X then a 20X loupe until they're perfect. I write with it and it feels scratchy for a while then the left tine pops back down to where it likes to be and it's nice and smooth again.

It's crooked enough to be visible with the naked eye (it can be a little bit distracting) but it really does write better this way.
I'm thinking it might be because it's oblique that it shows this odd behavior, has anyone else encountered something like this?
