I took down the fade test, the Ocean Blue faded away.

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

Please do a quick informal impression on what "Stormy Grey" mixed with "Ocean Blue" will look like. I have been playing with the idea to order the three Anniversary inks from Goulet Pen but only if Ocean Blue could be tweaked. Pretty please...😕

I can't do it. I don't own Ocean Blue - it was a sample. If I find another sample around here, I can try.

I have a bottle of Stormy Grey, a sample of Ocean Blue, and a bunch of empty vials I could use for mixing. I have a nasty midterm on Wednesday occupying most of my brain space, but if I get a chance to mix several ratios of the mix I'll be sure to do it and photograph the results to put here.

After the test...we'd love to see this non-graded test!

For the first time last night I opened my first box. . stripping the shrink wrap.. slowly pealing back the lid and lifting the smooth bottle out of the box. I just sat there in deep admiration slowly moving the golden bottom back and forth in different angles of the light watching the flecks shimmer and slide to and fro. Then tonight, minutes ago, I inked my lamy safari with it and have a second fp rinsed and drying over night to load.. I wrote with this ink for the first time tonight. I am in love.. I have it bad. I have completed my first pyramid.. the trinity lives.. and must admit after writing with this ink, i need no other ink.. oh no... the hunt is on for bottle number 4 *sigh* I'm just shy of writing a poem to it...

In a word.. WOW!

Many questions on those "sparkles" however...

i.e. Do you need to shake the bottle before filling? Are there any clogging any issues due to the sediments?

etc. etc.

Super nice ink however!

Yes, you shake it. The gold settles MUCH quicker than my 1670 Rouge Hematite and it's also much easier to stir up than the Hematite too. This does cause it to settle in pens much quicker, so be aware.

It hasn't clogged, but i see a lot of gold deposit in my nib so far after a week's use. It should clean up well enough, my original Rouge Hematite did with a bit of cleaning solution and rubbing. I'd make sure you use a pen where you can easily take the feed, nib, and more apart - the easier the pen is to break down into components, the easier it will make cleaning the ink out.

I have to shake my pen before using.

So this is what Stormy Grey looked like in my TWSBI Vac 700 after I'd been writing with it for about twenty minutes. Please excuse the poor image quality - I took this with my phone:

Has anyone found difficulties in flushing the sparkles from the pen feed or nib? Admittedly, I tried this ink in my safari first and would not in my Pelikan until I had that answer resolved.

Thanks Tinysnail, but please don't neglect the studies.

Good news is that it went wonderfully (and I got to use my new Sheaffer Balance Lifetime Lady in Ebonized Pearl to write it!) and that I just made a few basic mixes: 25/75, 50/50, and 75/25 that I can compare to the inks themselves. Unfortunately, I don't have a dip pen, so I'll either do swabs or splashes or just dip a normal pen. Super excited to see how this goes!
