Similar Colors To Noodler's El Lawrence?

Hello, I was wondering if anyone knows any similar color to Noodler's El Lawrence. I am a big fan of murky/earthy ink colors (fervent user of Zhivago, R&K Sepia and Herbin Lie de The) and would really like to try out El Lawrence, but I can't find it in any EU store (although it's part of the UK series?!). From what I saw in writing samples, the color seems pretty similar to R&K Sepia, albeit a bit greener. What do you think? Thanks!

Cheers,

Dragos

I haven't tried the R&K Sepia. I will say that I tried a sample of Diamine Salamander, and it was a lot more green than El Lawrence.

I'm not sure that you're going to find anything that is an exact match to El Lawrence -- it's a weird mix of grey and sepia (it's been described as being the color of used motor oil, and I have definitely found that to be the case.

You may be able to mix inks to get something close, but I'm not certain of what ones to suggest to you.

You could try Thomas Maier, who has to some extent taken over the ink side of Rolf Thiel's missing-pen. The webpage http://www.schreibstoff-shop.de/ contains little more than his email address, but according to statements on a German pen forum Thomas Maier is very pleasant to deal with and does carry Noodler's.

Check out the comparison of murky green inks by GeoDuc. It's very comprehensive.

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).
