I have been struggling with a problem others describe here. I love my medium loom nib. I find it quite perfect in feedback and wetness. However, I struggle to write more than a few lines with the body.

The é-motion is heavy and usually leads to my hand cramping after a while.

The ambition, ondoro and essentio I have not tried. The ambition looks appealing but it is not longer than the loom, which is potentially a problem. The ondoro I have not tried in a long time and I worry about the capping issue. The essentio is longer than the loom but it is thin.

The hexo looks comfortable but it has a different nib unit so that defeats the purpose.

GvFCs tend to be on the heavy side, although very well balanced.

The one I find less heavy, but almost equally comfortable to the Intition wood is the resin Intuition (the wood is slightly more comfortable due to the wooden material which feels very nice in the hand and ensures a slightly better grip than plastic).

The Ondoro is a nice pen but the Intuition is even more comfortable in the hand, the section and barrel are one single piece and you don't need to grip very tightly, it falls very well in the hand. It costs quite a bit more but seems worth it to me.

The converter is a bit odd, but once you get used to the mechanism it's easy and you don't get your fingers dirty with ink (as some complain).

Strangely to me, the EF nib on my first Grip (the 2010) has a bit of line variation, especially on cursive tail letters.

I've noticed this as well with my Loom EF nib, almost a "zoom"-like quality. A Zoom Loom. :)

The intuition is a very nice pen. Interestingly, because they use Bock gold nibs, it's a totally different world than the jowo steel nibs on the Faber Castell pens.

I might check out the ondoro again but also if the hexo can take the better Faber Castell nibs.

For some reason Faber Castell is rather widely available in Mexico. Have an eye on a wooden Ondoro. And I have thoroughly enjoyed the Ambition, in coconut wood. This was my first non-plastic, classier pen purchase. Just about 90 days ago!

The Ambition is surprisingly well made and reliable given its price. I have one and use it solely for my daily diary. The M nib runs on the F side, but is a nice wet line. I find dark black inks look best in it!

I‘m on the verge of becoming a GvFC fan. I love Gulf Blue. As ink and also as a colour for their accessories.

Best,

Sebastian

I think is is my favorite pen that they make and I have totally forgotten about it! What a looker. Maybe I will try to find one used. Is that a number 6 or 5 nib? Great pen!

This is a #5 nib.

Very similar in dimensions is the Faber-Castell Ambition (not Graf-von-Faber-Castell, that's the luxury line).

However, it is only available with a steel nib (which writes excellently), also in many different real wood versions, but unfortunately not in such a beautiful red.

You will be forgiven that you cannot, but never more that you do not want to.

I only own the Sterling Silver GVF. It was a graduation. Superb writer. I am considering looking into other FC lower priced pens. Looking into the Emotion currently.

My luck turns...

I found a fetching price on GvFC Intuition while I was scrolling for GvFC Classic in Sterling Silver. I can barely restrain myself from placing the order.

One aspect I will approve of E-motion is that it is solid steel. The pen fell on granite at half a meter and didn't dent. My Loom would dent around the base - thank solid construction for that.

One thing that is always a problem with open section Faber Castell's is the pens unscrew themselves if you hold at the section. You have got to hold them at the barrel to avoid it which is already the norm for me since I enjoy the wider grip it provides.

Only have one - an emotion in black - which I love. Ha a broad nib and is very smooth, was great out of the box. If there was one thing I would change it would be to have a #6 nib on it only because I think it would look even better.

The capliner doesn't allow for a bigger nib, however with a Loom you can slide the nib by quite a bit, I'd say almost half a centimeter... makes it softer and more springy.
