I ended up buying a Naka-ai with Spencerian. I posted a thread with details somewhere around here. Overall I love it. It doesn't snag at all for me and is much smoother than my Namiki Falcon with Spencerian grind. The thins are far better than the Falcon's.

John Mottishaw Spencerian Naka-ai on Rhodia pad in lap - not the easiest way to flourish and I have a ways to go. I still don't have my favorite spencerian majuscule shapes memorized yet. There's a great source on iampeth that has a bunch of different designs for each character in a row. I'm slowly going through it and picking a favorite for each letter.
