Good day everyone ! My name is Aaron, and I am very excited to become part of your community. I am relatively new to fountain pens; appx. 3 months or so at this point. I have amassed a medium sized collection of pens from family and heirlooms of family members pre dating the ballpoint or rollerball. I currently have 15 pens, and have been studying proper form and Italic writing as well as my own quasi calligraphy :) or, as my wife calls it my own style of "fancy" writing ! I hope not only to become an active member here, and to learn, but eventually to contribute, and become an asset as well ! Cheers and happy writing ! Thank you for having me. - Aaron

Hello Aaron and welcome to FPN. Family heirlooms are a wonderful way to be introduced to fountain pens. There are many here among us who have had just such an introduction and consequently stumbled onto this amazing forum as we searched for information about our pens. It's great to have you here with us.

Welcome !

In the old days, a fountain pen was very personal. You have been given stewardship of heirloom pens. It is an important trust.

Try to keep them in regular use. Which do you have ?

Hi Aaron and welcome to FP

As Sasha pointed out, heirlooms are special. Look after them well. The same pen that conveyed the thoughts of your parents, now does so with yours. Your thoughts are connected that way.

Enjoy your pens

WOW thank you all so much for the kind words and welcome ! I am practicing Chancery Italic currently about 45 minutes a day using Seyes paper. I will be posting some photo's soon...I am far from even adequate but I find a lot of pleasure and relaxation working on the letter forms etc. Again thank you all for the warm welcome it is very much so appreciated !

Hey Aaron, I just joined in on the forum as well...and in NYC. Well not at the present moment. In NC visiting family. But looking forward to heading back north on Sunday!
