Sailor Epinard Vs Sailor Four-Seasons-Tokiwa-Matsu-Pine-Green

Is there any difference in the colors??

I just got both bottles. The Four Seasons Pine Green from Vanness while I was at DC, and the Epinard from Gold Spot (because they had some). :)
Except for the Epinard feeling more lubriated, I don't see any difference.

What do you think?

nothing much... they have their reasons why they had to discontinue the epinard, grenade peach etc...etc...etc... line as they overlap with the current 4 season colors I dont think ultramarine counts but that's also discontinued with Nioi Sumire taking it's place I KEPT ON SAYING THIS LONG TIME AGO... dont think anyone listened but ok

but if they do release more inks

Sakura-Mori will take the place of Peach, I forgot what ink name will take place for Apricot but they have 1 also from the 4 season inks

Just received a letter from a penpal that was written at least in part with Tokiwa-Matsu - my first instinct on what color it is? Not pine green - not by a long shot. Think Army Green like old timey US Army green. Maybe it was partly the paper (a Franklin Christoph paper) and partly the nib (M800 B)

But maybe it was partly the fluorescent lighting in the room at the time too.

Tokiwa-Matsu has more yellow in it and Epinard has slightly more red undertones in it. The differences are subtle, but there. If you are a color freak like me it's good to own both.

There is a difference. I did a comparison. Also, it really depends on which edition of tokiwa-matsu you're referring to, as you'll see below. :)

Epinard is definitely a wetter ink, but that means it ends up looking different too. Because it is wetter, the colour sometimes comes out darker than the other two. The shading looks different as well.
