Sailor Pen With "ski Jump" Nib

Recommended Posts

I have a Sailor Profit "Fude De Mannen" pen as well as a Sailor DE Brush Stroke "calligraphy" pen. Both have a crazy "bent" nib that looks like a ski jump (angling away from the paper, not toward it, as other nibs I've seen). I love sketching with that nib! Both are also extremely inexpensive (and look it). I am wondering if Sailor makes a higher-end pen with the same type of nib but perhaps a better looking body? Source, please. . .? Is "fude de mannen" the search term I should use to indicate the type of nib I'm looking for? Or something else?

Thank you -

The Naginata Fude de Mannen bends away from the paper, the Naginata Concord bends toward the paper.

Just a thought: that pen nib was designed to mimic the characteristics of a writing brush. Have you tried the brush tip pens that are available in different sizes and softness grades? They work like a felt pen, only with a brush tip. If you love the Fude De Mannen nib, you might also like using a brush tip pen.
