Yeah exactly! The authentic box uses a full on interference fit between the pen and the surrounding microsuede-- like how jewelry boxes are. The fake boxes have carved out a slot for the pen.

Hello, can someone tell me if the black interior of this box could be a legitimate mont blanc box please? I am finding it difficult to confirm if this could be a true box. Most have the white interior from what I have seen. Thank you.

Your box is perfectly legitimate. They made this box in the 90s I still have a couple of them.

Box looks fine. Not so sure about the pen.

The black material interior box was the one before the cream plush interior box. The problem with the black version is that there was always a clip underneath the material to hold the pen, and it often broke.
