It isn't made from any type of leather that Mb use. The logo isn't an authentic Mb logo. It doesn't have the black Montblanc design interior, it isn't a Mb design, and the strap is nothing like a Mb strap.

Apart from that it's a bag that you can put stuff in and carry

I'm not saying that it is genuine, but it looks like it is meant to be a messenger bag. Re the Logo, they have some bags with that type of 'badge',and they have used very similar straps (looks to be not in their usual design, but there you are) .... take a look at these, different but both with elements of yours:

ps ....An awful lot of items don't appear on the MB website .... and some items only appear on certain websites, such as Montblanc Russia

Montblanc never use that logo that says Mont above and Blanc below a logo.

The first bag you link to has a outer logo with a hole in the centre, not a black snowcap, and the second has a strap that clearly says the brand name which is Montblanc.

Edited: I see that even though the OP's strap does say Montblanc, the 'M' isn't like the authentic 'M' that Mb use.

This bag is the one that the fake is attempting to copy. Or maybe this one. Check out the exact shape of the authentic Montblanc 'M'

I havent received it yet. When i received it, i will check it out. I dont think that Japanese will sell these fake goods cause basically most of them are honest in business. And this is a big company that represent for auction items.

Well if it looks like the picture it's a fake. 100% fake absolutely no doubt whatsoever.

If you don't want to know then pretend you didn't ask the question.

I unfortunately also believe this is a counterfeit bag for all of the obvious reasons Chrissy has pointed out and especially because of the stitching patterns. Depending on the date of manufacture, MB leather goods have a little tag hidden somewhere which has a serial number on a hologram-like sticker. The 'leather' pull-put flap on this bag which has "Montblanc" stamped in it should also have a country or city stamped underneath it. The early leather goods said "Made in Hamburg" and newer ones can have Italy, France, Spain, Germany, or possibly others.

I keep thinking about selling some of my pens but all that happens is I keep acquiring more!

  • 2 years later...

Well, after years of trying to impress on my partner to, whenever possible, never ever buy anything without first handling it or, at the very least, seeing very good photos first, especially if it purports to be a Montblanc .... at a local auction all that advice was ignored and they bid on a Montblanc leather shoulder bag without even taking a look at it! When I was given it to examine I could only say 'Well, it looks OK .. but wouldn't stake my life on it!' despite not being able to find anything identical to it.... It certainly looks the part, also nice and roomy with six separate sections, so is a useful bag. As they paid less than what you'd expect to spend on a common or garden leather satchel, well it wasn't a big gamble!

You do know it's a fake though, don't you? That's not a Montblanc snowflake logo. :(

All I'm going to admit to, Chrissy, is that '..... it looks OK' beyond tat I plead the fifth amendment! :) 'They're' producing some good stuff!

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
