And ... Sold. That was fast.

Sorry to see 'em go. Even if my finances improve in the future, it's looking increasingly like they'll be impossible to replace.

I didn't get anything. :(

I really wanted a bottle of cigar before March :(

Worry not--March will be here before you know it! also, I believe the P&M people are accepting pre-orders for Cigar right now.

I don't think so. A pre-order involves paying some amount up-front. He isn't taking anything right now.

Edit: you bought the entire stash?

Nope. T_T

Like others, I already had most of the inks offered--I was only interested in a few bottles. I don't do duplicates. B)

If the offer was made back in July, I would have snapped up the lot!

Ya ain't missin' out.

As pretty as the diamond bottles are, I'm in it for the ink, and, as a rule, any bottle that comes in a box stays in it.

I also let the bottles stay in the box, but it's about the how useful these bottles are while filling the ink. I won't be having any trouble while filling ink until I am at the last 10ml of ink.

As for duplicates, you pay straight $40 for a bottle of ink. I pay close to $25 and it gets cheaper to order doubles or more bottles. :)

I never paid a straight $40 nor any shipping or additional fees. :)

I employe an industrial syringe for most pen fills, so bottle functionality means little to me. For the one plunger filler I own, I use sample vials or an empty J. Herbin 10 ml glass bottle to hold inks (I never fill directly from the bottle).

If you don't pay $40 then how do you get these shop exclusive sailors like P+M and Kingdom note? I think Atsu sells them for $40, read this in one of saskia's ink reviews.

Industrial syringe is a good method for C/C pens, but there will be no ink the the feed.

Any particular reason why you never fill directly from the bottle? If the bottle design is practical, I think it should be okay. Or are you trying to save the bottle from contamination?

Directly from the very shop maybe. Bung-box, for exemple, sell directly to foreigners.

^bungbox inks can be bought from Vanness, a simpler alternative to ordering directly from bungbox for those who live in USA.

Kingdom note and P+M don't ship outside Japan.

Not only that... in the last couple of years.. I've been lucky enough to have two very close friends traveling to Japan and back. And yes.. they both brought me several bottles. So.. I have only paid regular retail (no shipping)... or regular retail (+shipping)... even from Pen+Message and Kingdom Note (I have an operative in Japan).. so no, I have never paid $40 per bottle.

And I do know .. I am not the only one.

It depends on how many bottles of something I am buying. If it's one bottle, I will usually be lazy and go through Atsu. But you can use a forwarding service to do this as well. I've used White Rabbit Express to buy the Cigar and also the Sailor Honey (hello silver sheen).

I know someone in Japan too. :)

I don't pay anything extra too but I do transfer extra $10 because he checks whether the packaging is okay and for the trip to post office. :)

I tired talking my boyfriend into going to Japan for our honeymoon so I could buy pens. That did not work. However, once I told him about Portebello Market it looks like London here we come.

I am now trying to talk a girlfriend into moving to Tokyo so I can visit and buy ink ;)
