Sailor's Full Ink Lines Including Shop Exclusives Compiled In A Post?

What I meant was the other stores, when back in stock don't seem to be raising prices at least not to such levels.

 

I know with the old prices plus shipping to the US and handling the costs were about $30/bottle. Vanness is charging $35.65 with free shipping within the US. But if a bottle starts at 3240 yen (just under $27 at current exchange rates) with shipping adding perhaps as much as $10-12/bottle, now we're at $40/bottle or thereabouts.

 

For some in the US that's still worth it, but at that price point I start thinking whether it's worth it. If I lived in Japan, I'd still pay the 3240 yen, but with the added shipping costs I just can't justify it as easily. At least not at the level I'd been buying them before. Now they really become a luxury.

I think I tried too tackle too much with my previous post.

 

I have not been following this all that closely, but it seems that there have been no new orders filled since the bottle issue arose. The temporary restocking of inks using these bottles being the filling of previous orders until the stock of bottles ran out.

 

Are Bung Box the only ones to switch to the short bottles? If so, I think they are the only ones putting newly bottled ink out on the market.

 

Again, I have not really been following this, so if anyone has more or different information, please let us know.

Ah, I understand now, that makes sense. I think perhaps people (including me) thought the jewel bottle problem had been resolved.

 

afaik, Bungbox is the only one advertising new ink in the new, standard Sailor, bottles.

 

I wonder how using the short bottles will effect the production process. I'd read here that the master ink maker formulated each ink in the bottle. Will he be able to do that in a different bottle? And he won't be able to fill the backlog of inks until there are new bottles. I hope he's not getting bored.

Although he mixes ink for each individual bottle, he does not mix them in the bottle. He uses a cocktail mixer.

That depends on the size of the mixer. I have seen him (video) mixing one bottle at a time at a Pen Clinic.

So, for those that felt a little silly splurging on Bungbox inks when it was plentiful, be thankful you got the colors you wanted--who knows when you'll see it back in rotation again. :/

Same, It's quickly become my favorite blue black in my collection. I have 3 bottles of Imperial Purple and 3 bottles of Sapphire. Need to Fill up on 4B and Orange.
