I thought the whole part of the fun was going through all the pages.

And this comprehensive list, is it of everything that's ever been available, or what's available now? Many of the inks as Algester and others have pointed out are long gone, either as limited editions or simply that stores decided not to stock again. Or they were created during an ink clinic and were really a one off.

Even in Japan many of the inks are hard to get. And they'll be expensive no matter what. Trying to scrimp here seems chasing after rainbows.

Well, yeah. Going through the pages is fun, but until 20 at most.

When this thread gets to 100 pages, surely no one will care about the inks written in the middle pages, hence, they need to be consolidated somewhere.

I don't think I can get all the inks. But if it's available in Japan (any corner), it can be acquired. It may take me a couple of years to acquire all of them and in such cases, a comprehensive list rather than a lengthy thread is useful.

Currently on page 5.

however in the middle of the thread I did consolidate to some degree and even put a strike out on the no longer available inks...

I'm still not too keen about the voltaire juni-hitoe inks someone just posted recently he or she got 1 bottle from it...

whats good about what I have done so far is because Sailor is now stocking up on the back log there's no new inks have been released so far besides the KN crustacean inks... which is soon to be released

Sorry about the chase not being fun.

tinjapan who lives in Japan and follows this thread has commented that even for someone who lives in Japan the stores are not always easy to reach if it's outside one's own district. And just because they have a picture of the ink on a website doesn't mean they have it in stock. Someone coming to this thread years from now will find the inks all gone.

And it's kind of pointless to get them all anyway, unless you like having a lot of inks that are very close in color and characteristics. And some inks, folks here have panned.

People always want to chase after what they cannot have. Being a slave to desire is no fun.

I love me a good ink chase and I've enjoyed reading through the 50+ pages in this thread. It's what originally fueled my desire for Japanese inks.

*In a way, Algester, you've spent much of my money. :P

Thank you for the above phrase: "I like me a good ink chase!" I have enjoyed many a "(fill in the blank) chase" during my life & shared many with several friends of MANY years. I fear none of them understand my newly focused attention of pens/ink so it is certainly nice to know "I am not alone!"

Today my friend (with the "BROWN" truck left a package that had departed Switzerland only Monday @ my back doorstep...........Since one of my friends of 40+ years had called earlier to report his Mother's death this morning it was a MOST welcome "find." (I had decried the cost of shipping 2 bottles of ink BUT today felt the cost most worthwhile.) Sometimes an "incoming ink treat" is a very good thing! Will my "life be changed by these 2 newly discovered inks? I am sure it will not but I welcome the opportunity to add them to the cupboards of ink & am grateful to FPN to have aided my discovery. I have flushed a broad nibbed Parker 51 gold filled flighter & look forward to using a pen I had not yet tried with one of the 'new inks." And so it goes........until my next "good chase!"

So, unfortunately I had a woodworking accident about a month ago, you can probably guess what happened. It's not all that bad.... because last night I could finally semi-write again! So to celebrate I wanted to get some sailor ink. But I'm on overload, there are just too many good ones to choose from. Love inks with Sheen,

Of course I have 2 bottles each of Yama Dori and Oku-yama, love them. Think they might be discontinued like Sky High? Should I grab some more with my next order?

I'm looking at:

Sailor's Onago-iro Days line - Odekake if I can find it.

Something lighter red, Like Infra Red from Caran d'Ache ( saw Sailor (Bung Box) Lycoris Red, but a tad too pink)

And an orange

And maybe some of all your favorites!

Vanness stocks inks that will ship internationally - most of the exclusive inks are from shops in Japan that do not. So Vanness is merely retailing what any of us could go on line and purchase, and saving us a few bucks in shipping costs. Most of these small shops in Japan do not even have web sites - you can only get it through the courier services or be lucky enough to know someone who lives there and can / will obtain and ship it for you.

I talked with Vanness today and apparently there will be no Sweet Potato Purple this fall because of the bottle issue. That, if true, is a sad thing indeed!

Onnago Iro-days ink is currently out of the question probably due to the backlog and the bottle issue

I already posted this penne19 Gakunan Tesudou "international orange"

store.shopping.yahoo.co.jp/penne19/gd-ior1.html

(still available but is currently back logged)

something red you might want to check out the new permanent inks in the Storia AKA fire red

A little bird told me today that Bungo Ishida inks may be available as soon as the first of the year.

Last I checked, now several months ago, I was told that Maruzen Sepia would be available in August. That was before I learned of the bottle shortage and after the availabilty date had already been pushed back several times. I have not been back to check but doubt there are available yet.

If someone had a look at the bungbox site, they have completely switched to the normal Jentle ink bottles. Just lost their appeal, for me at least. I have to hold the pen at awkward angles to fill in the ink. :(

Currently on page 10 for consolidation and losing the drive to keep going.

Do they ship internationally? I only find a Japanese website (http://bung-box.com/products/detail1898.html)

I would really like Bungbox 4B, I don't care how the bottle looks.
