Businesses with a storefront and an online shop usually split their inventory between the two. So, what I believe Vanness is doing is selling their Bungbox in-store inventory, now, since their online inventory has sold out.

Considering Mike has been shipping/fulfilling these orders within 24 hours, I have to imagine that they are the 8-sided bottles, not the new Jentle round bottles, since they are filling orders from existing stock.

These are the traditional bottles, as this is stock that Vanness has on hand already.

The non-Japan exclusive bottles won't be used until Sept. and, as I understand it, will only be used for the Massdrop purchase. Beyond that, availability will be a nightmare for many Japan exclusives until early next year.

Thanks for the confirmation! What other colors did you get? I have 2 bottles of 4B and 1 bottle each of Lycoris Red, Oma Sky, and L'Amant coming to me from Vanness. I don't recall whether Vanness ever carried Sapphire or Piano Mahogany though.

FYI, I have 1 bottle each of 4B, Kabayaki of the Hamanako Eel and Omaezaki Lapis Lazuli Sea on the way from Vanness. Also, Ruby (Clown Tears) and Dandyism are ordered from Massdrop, but they are estimated to ship in Sept. And Vanness lists both Sapphire and Piano Mahogany under *New* Inks, but both are "Product not available." The same listing holds for Ruby and Dandyism on Vanness' web site.

 

I am hoping I like Kabayaki of the Hamanako Eel a lot. Reddish brown and Sepia inks are among my favorites. But, even if it's not as wonderful as I expect, it's worth it to be able to say, "This is Kabayaki of the Hamanako Eel," when asked what ink I am using.

 

One wonders if they will have any Bung Box ink left for the upcoming pen shows.

I snapped up a bottle of Fresh Oranges from Lake Hamada. Hoping against hope that one day I will click on their page and see a bottle of Sweet Potato Purple on sale.

Miscellaneous inks also purchased were three half bottles of Diamine (Salamander, Ancient Copper, Red Dragon) and a 15 ml bottle of Iroshizuku Yamabudo. Early last week I ordered Bungbox Piano Mahogany--so gorgeous and quite layered! With that came two 15ml Iroshizuku bottles (Fuyu-gaki & Kosumosu).

 

It wasn't that long ago that they had many Bungbox inks available and I believe they had all ink colors at one point this year.

 

Oh Vanness! If you have Ebisu Gold or Music Black, PLEASE ADD IT TODAY!!!

They indeed carried BOTH of them. I talked about the Sapphire with Mrs. Vanness when I placed an order & did receive Piano Mahogany when I ordered Espresso, Kabayali Eel & Mandarin Orange on February 25, 2015.
