I don't think they are *exactly* the same, but they are soooooooooooooooooooooooo close that it's *basically* the same. Only staring at the page where both inks are used for a VERY long time can I discern a slight difference.

 

I agree - it's so close to Kin-mokusei, I don't know why anyone picked it.

Maybe Sailor thinks, oh great, that saves us the trouble! We just have to make more KM and stick another label on it!

Well, Kingdom Note released their custom pen and the two inks in the Tale of the Genji series today. The inks are already sold out after only a couple hours. The pen is a bright yellow, and there seem to be some available if you have a spare 42,120¥ available (about $386 US).

 

I don't think the inks showed up online until they were already sold out as I didn't see them there this morning at 8:30 am NY time, then all gone by 11:00 am when I checked back.

Actually, I am on their mailing list and got advance notice of their going on sale. Despite this, the inks were already sold out when I checked my email. This was a couple of days ago. Guess the craze has not completeky passed after all.

 

The pen is a Realo (sp?), the piston filler with an ink window. Yellow with red end caps.

Well we don't know how many inks they produced, and I don't know if KN has ever had any purchase limits which some shops have done. But if someone used a bot, there's no way an ordinary human would get to buy any.

 

The blue looked nice, but it wouldn't have made sense to buy just that one bottle. The orange was probably nice too, but I'm not really interested in any more orange inks.

 

I guess it'll remain to be seen if they'll restock these or not.

I cannot get understanding about the color they choose because I was misled by the news that the color would be purple...

The ink that came with the pen is black...

Thanks so much... I apologise for my laziness... I just tend to get lost in the Kingdom's Note site.. and never find what I am looking for. That site is not meant for me.

 

 

The blue looks like a run of the mill blue. The Orange, looks like Yellow... a nice yellow, but I think I have similar yellows.

Yes it's quite strange vanishsophie, the blue ink has a purple label. But that sounds even stranger that if you order the pen you get a black ink. I wonder if it's a custom or special black ink, or just regular Sailor black?

Kingdom Note has a new page talking about the Tale of the Genji series, but I'm not sure if it's saying anything more about it than what we already know. They do have a new image for a light violet, but maybe it's the same thing. Google can't translate because it doesn't know how to convert an image of Japanese characters into Japanese characters.

Yeah.. I know... I think is a bummer... Apricot = Kin Mokusei , Grenade = Okuyama (to a chromatography level).. I wish they will go for new colors...

 

 

Forgot which is the equivalent for Epinard?..
