Oh filthy word! I passed on opportunities for both the blue and the bird because the label pics did not do justice to the colors inside.

Nooooooooooooo!

I have a review with the old poor camera of the little blue mushroom and have used it since then and it's certainly a good ink. Not as saturated like the Trametes versicolor, but a nice one I think.

miujojo32's images are as saturated as you could ever get since the ink is applied so heavily.

I don't think we can rely on the little color spot on the box.

Luckily, I bought these some time ago in the old bottles. They are wonderful inks.

Rationalizing pen and ink purchases since 1967.

Old bottle or new bottle, the ink is still the same.

Tell that to all my pens that don't fit in the fat bottles, most will never know the wonder of the that ink :/

Well there are other ways of filling a pen than putting the nib into the bottle. And with many brands' ink bottles you still need alternative fill methods when you get near the bottom.

  • 2 weeks later...

Finally, after so long, managed to visit and get these.

also, a word of warning - I tried the Kobe LE Aegean that just came out. It is LOVELY and I am smitten. BUT ... I left it in my pen with reasonably frequent use for about three weeks. It was a Pelikan m605 that was brand new, this was the first fill. When I tested the pen before inking, the piston was perfectly smooth. After I had the Aegean ink in it, the piston was almost frozen, barely able to push up the sides of the barrel at all. The ink had stripped all the lubrication from the inside of the pen.

It wasn't a problem to unscrew the nib and relube the barrel, but if it had been a different pen, like a sheaffer vac fill for example, I would have been in real trouble.

Just letting people know!

OH WOW! Those were on my desperate want list, but I didn't get them before they sold out. Now they no longer sell online, right?

This is their current web page. They state they sell only in the store. About halfway down is the list of inks.

But of course a visit to Mt Fuji would be the high point of your trip to Japan. :)

Cool!

Thanks.

Please post writing samples when you can. I'm drooling!

Yes, they no longer sell these online. It's written on their webpage.

I will post writing samples when I ink them up. Will take a while because I already have many other inks to be opened and tried.

I didn't buy the pink and light green because I don't like those colours. Instead, I bought 2 bottles each of Fuji Red and Yakisoba Orange.

Yes, they only sell in shop now. You have to visit Fujinomiya to buy them.

I tried searching but couldn't find anything - wonder if any of the experts in this thread could help me. Apparently there is a stationery shop in Hiroshima called Tayama which has original inks - the blue black ("Setonaikai Blue Black", 瀬戸内海 ブルー ブラック) is pictured here - anyone know anything about it?
