Sailor's Full Ink Lines Including Shop Exclusives Compiled In A Post?

I thought both White_lotus and Cyber6 said at some point that they have moved on from sailor inks. What's up now?

Like Cyber6 I still use and love my Sailor inks, but am not really trying to acquire the hard to get ones, or the too expensive ones. Like Cyber6 says, there are many very good ink makers now that are easily available — in the US at least.

Does anyone know if the re-released Jentle line (kin-mokusei, rikyu-cha etc.) is being released for a limited time only, or is going to be added to the current line up for good? I initially thought it was a limited release, but people on Instagram are saying that it is going to be added to the current line-up. Would appreciate if someone could clear this up :)

The rep said these 8 inks will be a part of the regular line update

Meaning?

Added to the existing lineup or replacing it?

Will it be 8 or 16 colours?

Two new colors from Stationery Delta :)

Neither inks do anything for me, but that pen in your signature does! Beautiful in the extreme. If you don't mind, may I ask what that pen is, and where one might find one like it (probably not one I can afford, but still, there's always room on my wish list for another "grail pen" :))?

These 8 are the only ones added to the line in October. I do not know if they will replace existing inks.

Hello. IrishEyes.

Glad to know you like the pen :)

It's a Ultraman (the popular Japanese hero) fountain pen with a steel nib.

I bought this on Amazon Japan for about 40 dollars.

But it looks like currently they are out of stock. :(

I have been using Sankodo Nagoya castle sepia for a while now and i find it a bit dry and less lubricating than the other sailor inks I have tried.

Does anyone else who has Nagoya castle sepia confirm this?

Yep! I feel the same way about it. It is an interesting colour, but it's super dry.

Thanks. :)

It was getting horrible to write with, especially with the EF nib it was being used in, so I emptied it out and filled it with Piano Mahogany.

No more ink buying for a long time, or at least truly not much, but SPP arrived a few days ago, and I finally had time to clean a pen and load it up. My goodness, that is some beautiful ink. Someone on this forum long ago raved about it so convincingly that I decided I would really like to get some. I just don't have the energy or money to go after the true exotica like Kingdom Note issues, but with the help of our friends at Vanness, getting some of the BB inks is now "just" a matter of money. As I said, I'm done with ink until I make a real big dent in what I have, but this is a good farewell ink.

I also just was lucky to be provided a bottle of BB SPP from those nice folks @ Vanness. I had gotten SPYellow from them, when they first carried BB & have waited a long time to see the "other half of the ink." It represents the "last ink" I felt had evaded me & am happy it came from the same source that provided me my first BB inks.

I admire your restraint & wish you success; I can't say I will be joining you but, with the SPP, I don't feel like there is any more ink I am sad about not having.

Well said, Barkingpig; I like that turn of phrase, an ink to be sad not to have, which was indeed the way I felt about SPP. (I suppose a non-believer would find this to be madness.) You will perhaps be amused to hear that I fell off the wagon rather quickly, just one day after writing my resolution. This one I think will *really* be the pause point, but the elusiveness of Kingdom Note inks was vexing me, so when one became available on Ebay for a slightly less absurd amount than usual, I jumped. (Jellyfish purple.) I'll be interested to see what magic this one brings. It has not been widely discussed, so I have limited and unclear expectations.

I have only had one bottle of ink from KN; it was Tanna Japonenis & purchased probably 2 years ago, back when the "getting was easier!" I was having a struggle with the KN, Stag Beetle, the brown one, but luckily I was spared because someone else purchased it. Enjoy your jellyfish, I am sure it will be worth "the FALL."
