The Ultimate Eyedropper Pen

I feel the Namiki Emperor is the ultimate eyedropper pen. Huge, so huge that other big pens start looking tiny in front of it. Positively huge nib, yet the pen is very comfortable to use. Some pics with a Vermillion Dani Trio Mikado and a black Sho Genkai. The maki-e pattern on this Emperor is called the "Pavilion".

That Emperor is a pretty impressive pen. Between the three pens do they hold a whole bottle of ink? :) What do you think of the shut off on the Danitrio?

The Vermillion one has its shutoff valve reversibly defeated. The Kurokeshi is stock, so is the emperor. The emperor's shutoff mechanism is a class apart, spring loaded and very smooth and precise.

I estimate the emperor's ink capacity at roughly 5ml, i am yet to make accurate measurements.

Best

Elaborating on the shutoff mechanism, the Pilot system works directly on the feeder. In Danitrio, the shutoff valve operates on the conical face machined in the section orifice, so it still leaves some captive volume between the section's orifice and the nib unit's orifice where ink will remain.

So you finally got a Namiki Emperor! Beautiful maki-e! I normally fill my Emperor with 3 to 4 mL of ink, but the feed should be able to accommodate another mL of ink.

So you finally got a Namiki Emperor! I Beautiful maki-e!

Beautiful pen, yes. When he came to know that the Emperor was my Grail pen, a FP collector in India decided to offer me this pen to use for as long as I wished to. Of course, I agreed. So it is on loan with me. The Emperor is a pen much beyond my payband. :)

Beautiful, Hari. My grail pen is the Crane, but it's unlikely in the extreme that I'll ever own on unless I win the lottery. We all gotta have a dream, I guess.

Grace and Peace are already yours because God is the Creator of all of life and Jesus Christ the Redeemer of each and every life.

Beautiful pens Hari! A Waterman 20 is more my goal. I wonder how these compare in size to a 20.
