2015 Hobonichi Planner To Be Released Soon

My hobonichi planner just arrived today from Nanami paper. I was so excited that I went onto the website and ordered the cover in apple red. Can anyone tell me what size of pen can fit in the little pen loop?

I can fit TWSBI 580's, a Scriptorium large Balladeer, vanishing points, Kara Kustoms Inks, and pretty much everything else in the loops. You would need a pretty seriouslyrics thick pen not to fit. If you stuff the cover, it gets marginally harder to line up the loops, though.

Thanks! That helps. Now I've got a great excuse to buy a pen to match the cover. Does anyone else do that or am I crazy? Lol. Maybe a red Lamy?

That's some reaaaaally enabling language there, haha. I got the Apple cover too. It's such a nice red! I haven't settled on a dedicated pen for the loop. I might make it my Noodler's Acrylic Konrad in Himalayan Ruby...

I was going to purchase a TWSBI Mini in Rose Gold to go with my Sashiko cover, until I switched to the Gfeller. The Gfeller will coordinate with most of my pens now, given natural leather kinda matches all. Now, I just want the Rose Gold on general principles, but I already have a BLS Classic Mini -- see my avatar!

This just enables me to purchase more ink!

So here are my pictures of my Gfeller on my Hobonichi Techo. I've added a rivet band & bookmarks from Hobonichi, in addition to a pencil board. I have the Sachiko cover, and while it is beautiful, it does add to both the size & heft of the Techo, where the Gfeller keeps the minimalist look.

Great, thank you. Edited by da vinci

I was thinking a Noodlers Ahab in Burmese Ruby. Or a red Lamy Safari. Either way works really. I'll have to wait until I have it in my hand to see.

Oh, lovely combination!

So here's a couple photos of my A5 and A6 hobonichi (my second order was delivered yesterday!). The first photo shows the A6 and A5 with the plastic cover on covers, and then I took the plastic covers out.

Very cute! The little hand and flower on the bookmarks, are they yours or did they come with the covers?

They're mine~! The little hand is a Mickey Mouse gloved hand and the flower is something I got from a cheap pen case that I eventually threw away, heh. For the bigger hobonichi (the dotted one) I also modified the pen holder and bookmarks with washi tape since I didn't want it to get dirty throughout the year. :)

Just curious, what is the little wooden tray with block in the photo. Is it a stamp set that you use in your planner? If so where did you purchase?

Also very nice covers and bookmarks. Mine is in the mail. Can't wait.

Yes, that's a stamp set with the Korean alphabet, hangeul. I bought it from an online store in Korea, 10x10.co.kr. :) Here is the link to that item, but that particular seller (stampmama) doesn't ship overseas. Other sellers do, such as this one.

Which cover did you choose? :)

Thank you for info on blocks.

.

I purchased the wine leather which broke the bank. But I intend to carry it with me on a daily basis and just throw in my purse. It came today and I am very pleased with the quality. The leather is beautiful but I know that I will like it even better when it has some wear and character. The zipper is very heavy duty and the color and design are just what I wanted.

I did purchase a few accessories. But will need to find some bookmarks which I forgot to order.

I was seriously, seriously bummed out when I discovered that the planner I've used for 20+ years, the Succes system (it really is spelled that way) is no longer shipping to North American distributors, so not available unless I want to pay far more for shipping and customs duties than the refills cost themselves. THEN I found the Hobonichi Techno planner at Laywine's in Toronto (no affiliation etc). I fell hard just standing there in the store, feeling that gorgeous Tomoe paper and appreciating the lie-flat binding. Now I can hardly wait for 2015 to arrive!

I won't be ordering the matching cover though - when I put the yen through my currency converter I had to sit down, fast!! I have found some terrific covers on Etsy though so I think that will be my route.

It's amazing how quickly a new love can make you forget an old and reliable flame!!

There is a catch: I do not know if the paper is tamoe river. Also a correction the paper may be plain not lined.I bought one last year but I did not get round to using it and it is currently "lost" so I can't check it for you.

No connection to me but have a look at this YouTube clip that shows a size comparison:

I have the hobonichi paper(s) book that scribble1 mentioned. The paper is unlined, and it has "hobonichi paper(s)" printed at the bottom of every other page. It's thicker than Tomoe River and very smooth, and it feathers a tiny bit especially with wetter pens. But it lays perfectly flat, and the pages tear out easily, so for the cheap price, I'm not complaining at all. If I place another order, which isn't at all unlikely given the enablers I continue to find myself surrounded by on this site, I'll buy a couple more of them.
