Wikeh: Cancoi beat you to it...

Cancoi: I already have one of each of the Gfeller covers for my journals, kip leather and skirting. I am excited for the third to arrive! Should be here on Thursday.

Professor Plume: The really do the best work for a fantastic price. God forbid Dave ever decides to order aniline dyed colors... I'll have a shelf full.

Hehehe… that may be true, but at least I provided a link. :-)

Now it's easier to get a Hobonichi! Though, it seems like everybody's been able to get it from the Hobonichi Planner site just fine.

Yeah, I was twitter-pated by the Gfeller & forgot to link!

Mine arrived today. This little planner is amazing, and the Gfeller cover is simply perfect. I could not be happier.

I can easily say that I won't be using another planner ever again.

I placed a second order yesterday! It all started with wanting a cover on cover for my new A6 hobonichi (I have the hana hane cover), which snowballed into other accessories I passed up on the first time and refills for the free pen and then I gave in and added an A5 cousin techo.

I regret nothing.

Would be great to see some pictures of these wonderful sounding covers, and some of the "cousin" :)

Will take photos once my second order gets here next week! :D

I got a Hobonichi with a Gfeller cover, and while the Gfeller cover is absolutely amazing, it isn't functional. It's just a cover. No pockets, no pen loop, etc. So I ordered a cover from the Hobonichi site which has 9 pockets and a pen loop.

But I love that Gfeller cover. The leather is so supple and soft, and with their design, the sleeves fit far enough on the cover so there's no "bump" that forms when you open and close it. So now I'm trying to look for an A6 size journal refill that will fit it. It's hard going...it's not a very typical size. I haven't had any luck thus far.

What's taking Hobonichi so long to offer an A5 sized "Cousin" book in English? I like the little one, but it's like only an extra-fine pen will be enough to write in it.

Showed mine to my daughter and now she wants one! I ordered one for her in Japanese as she majored in Japanese at Uni. It gave me the opportunity to order another cover and some notebooks as well. Win/Win I'd say.

It's been 2 days and I just wish they'd hurry up and send it!

They took 3 days to ship my cover, but once they did, it only took 3 days to arrive. And I'm in the US. I was impressed to say the least.

How much are you writing? :D I find that as just a day planner it's fine. I couldn't use it as a full fledged journal by any means...

My previous order was shipped the following day and that was just after the 2015 ones were released. It took 4 days to Australia, which is the same time as from the UK which is on the other side of the world.

Well, I say that mostly because I'm more used to the A5 size. The 4x6 size has taken some getting used to. This is the first time I've ever used a planner book of any sort so I don't know how I'll use it yet, but I see examples online of how people just fill theirs to the brim with journaling, illustrations, pictures. Makes me jealous. I'm hoping that my creativity is sparked by using it. I'm already planning to use colored pencils to color in the "herbs and spices" thing in the back.

Plus, I imagine the "Cousin" book has more factoids and informational pages, and extra content. I'd like to see that as an English version just so I could read it.

So here are my pictures of my Gfeller on my Hobonichi Techo. I've added a rivet band & bookmarks from Hobonichi, in addition to a pencil board. I have the Sachiko cover, and while it is beautiful, it does add to both the size & heft of the Techo, where the Gfeller keeps the minimalist look.

^ Yeah, that Gfeller cover is amazing. Feels good, supple, even smells amazing. I just needed something with more function. The Hobonichi cover has 9 pockets and a pen loop. More bulky for sure, but more useful. I'm looking high and low for a 4x6 journal refill for the Gfeller cover...the only thing I've found so far is a refill from those Renaissance Art book people, but that has thick handmade paper sewn into thick signatures. I would need thinner, lined paper. So the search continues.

Do you like Leuchtturm? The pocket size fits my Hobonichi. I buy from Powells Books, though they don't have all the colors. Gfeller covers are more tight, though, so it might not work.

I've actually never tried the Leuchtturm notebooks. I was looking at getting one of the softcover ones before I decided on trying Japanese books (Apica and Life Noble). Thanks for the tip though! The pocket size's dimensions look close.
