Ink By The Gallon

I've been very tempted to get a bottle of the 350ml Pilot ink, just for the heck of it.

But the only color that I would be interested in is black.

I've been very disappointed with the various blue-blacks that I've seen, that I'm about ready to head back to black for a DARK ink.

I wonder about the red.

Only the teachers would use red.

Ironically, I have a couple of large vintage bottles of ink, and want to get smaller bottles to decant into for easier usage, thinking about 2 or 4 oz. Boston Rounds with the phenolic caps, probably with amber glass (I like the look of the cobalt bottles, but they're a lot more expensive.

The Quink Violet has a rubber stopper with a wick (and I don't have tone supposed nozzle that one would have used). It's 8 oz. and supposedly has never been opened. The Skrip Peacock Blue is 2/3-3/4 full, but is a full pint bottle. I

suspect that I will be pouring with the receiving bottles inside the dish drainer I use for flushing inks. Just in case.

That's a good idea. I was going to use a small plastic funnel bought specifically for the purpose (and pour very slowly). But a baster would work (I just have to buy one that isn't going to ever be used for food, and then figure out where to store it so that it's not anywhere the kitchen.

You could special order large bottles of Noodler's through Swisher's - but he has since retired. The lead time was horrendous.
