A dab of epoxy is probably fine, I think. It doesn't seem to be a part that is integral in the operation of the pen mechanically.

The jewels tend to be stubborn and like to break. You get a replacement from another cap or get a reproduction or you resort to glue.

Not sure why it needs to come out to polish the cap though clip removal does make polishing easier.

It doesn't hurt to douse the jewel area with Naphtha just before the jewel pull.

The Naphtha will take care of any rosin sealant they may have used at the factory and also acts as a low grade lubricant.

I'd also give it a little heat first too if not While doing the remove.

I think the hardest part of the job will be to remove the broken part into the thread.

Exactly that's what I'm talking about, do you have any idea to do it?

Zippo lighter is quite effective.

Remove the screw from the cap first.

Chase the threads with a tap.

What would be the proper size tap? Thanks

Ever seen an 'easy out'? Harbor Freight and tool supply places have em. Basically they are a reverse thread screw . You drill a small pilot hole in the broken stub and reverse thread it into the hole and it spins out the broken stub. Hope they make them small enough for that. Short an easy out, I'd mill out a small screwdriver slot with a Dremel. It's already ruint so no harm no foul.

Memory says 3-56 for the small stem.

Even a 00 easy out will be to big
