Vacumatic Demonstrator - Is It Possible?

Recommended Posts

I posted about my other Parker Vacumatic a few days ago and had some helping hands throw me their info.

I'm posting about my other one I dug up a few years ago at a thrift/antique store while in College.

I couldn't tell you up the amount of time I've spent looking and hoping to find something pictures or photos of a similar demonstrator. I'll add some pics in desperate help.

I am going to throw it on eBay most likely (car needs a set of tires) because as much as I love it... It bugs the heck out of me.

Notice the "Demonstrator" imprint is not like others, it's a tad bigger and in a different font all together. Also, there is not a "not for sale" imprint anywhere. Third, I found it with a black gen1 cap, and the body is emerald pearl.... This is a friggin' Frankenstein demonstrator if I've ever seen one.

Let me know your thoughts.

I have a "similar" demonstrator in that it mixes colors. However, yours has a very funny (and admittedly very non-Parker) font that really throws me off. The cut-out section is also a very different shape from similar demonstrators I've seen in the past. Here is a picture of mine, along with another demonstrator very similar to your other one:

I am a bit troubled by the fact that the transparent rings on your pen are ambered as much as they are. Pretty much the only way for them to amber like that is when the sac out-gasses and the gas has nowhere to go, or when the plastic comes into contact with harsh inks. Since there is a hole in the side of the pen, there was plenty of room for the gas to go, and there's hardly any way for ink to stay in the pen.

Celluloid will amber due to many causes. I have had vintage celluloid rod stock that has changed colors and has yet to be made into a usable object.

I can take better pictures. The Parts are all definitely Parker. The section cut out looks machined to me or at least very precise. As for the font; I cannot come up with anything...
