Where Should I Send A Sheaffer Snorkel Fountain Pen For Repair?

My grandfather recently gave me a sheaffer snorkel pen and pencil set and when I tried to fill the pen it didn't work. I have no idea how to repair fountain pens and I'm looking for a reputable place to send the pen for repair. Any recommendations?

I have met Sherrell on several occasions and she has repaired three or four of my Sheaffer's. She is a real pro and quite knowledgeable about Sheaffer history too.

I certainly won't debate that Sherrell is a "Big Dog" Sheaffer repair person.

OTOH, I would think that Danny Fudge could also do a Snorkie restore for a little less money and maybe a quicker turnaround if you didn't have Sherrell do it in person at a show.

HOWEVER,

Pens gifted to one by their family members cross a pretty important line for me. IMO, they are more deserving of Special Attention than say that "just another Snorkie" you may have found on Fleabay.

Yep, a Snorkie given to Me by My Grandfather (hypothetically speaking) would go forthwith to either Sherrell or Ron Zorn.

No doubt about it.

I have had excellent results from Martin Ferguson at Martin's Pens. His web site is http://www.martinspens51.com/

Martin not only is an expert on snorkels, but does a very detailed seminar on snorkel and PFM repair at many pen shows. Anyone who wants to try their hand at snorkel repair should attend his seminar.

No financial interest, just a very satisfied customer.

I've had Danny Fudge restore several Sheaffer Snorkels and he's always done an excellent job, quickly, and inexpensively. I'd definitely use him again.

I had several people at the DC show tell me to go to Martin's table with my Snorkel Statesman. Talked to him around 2:30 in the afternoon on Sunday, and the turn around time was about an hour and a half, even with several people's pens in the queue before me. Pretty satisfied with the result. No affiliation otherwise (and I couldn't even tell you offhand who the people recommending him were, since I don't know).
