I am still on the Dallas Pen Show high. I had a great time, even met several of you (Pakmanpony, T4Texas, The Write Pen, Donwinn, MarcShiman, Brontosaurus Pluto, watch_art). Hope to see you all (and more) next year.

I was only able to attend till noon on Friday. The kids had early release and I had to help the school get ready for the homecoming bonfire and powder puff game.

Oddly enough, while I was there,I only saw one other hat. Oh well. I've got for and I really only wear two. The black one I had on was a crushable felt work hat. It is in need of a good cleaning by a hatter.

Next year I'll wear my FPN name and hopefully stay longer. Then again, the longer I stay, the more I spend.

Peace and Understanding

FUNTIMES!

I won a nice lapis Lady Duofold ringtop in the auction for a little below what I've seen them go for in auctions. I purchased several WASP Clippers that I've been after lately, but the best item for me was a pen cap pulling tool that went for about 1/2 it's retail value on the auction table!

Now I can take the dents out of all my dented caps with ease!

Always, though, the best part of any show is meeting new friends and seeing old ones! Kidde, TxKat, ScienceChick, all local FPNers that met and compared notes. Got to meet Shawn Newton and Chris Thompson and see some of their beautifully crafted pens firsthand. Danny Fudge left a plethora of shiny and functioning pen in his wake, and Perry rode off into the sunset in his new 'vette! I'll bet it was a beautiful ride back to Arkansas, Perry.

'Till next year- YeeHaw!

Clayton

Clayton Now I will have to send you my P51 caps that have dings/dents on them if you want to practice on. :D

I could be wrong, but I thought that was just an inner cap puller (I didn't see it, but they have offered the same tool each of the last several years). To repair P51 caps, you'll need a different tool, that one won't work.

I know you are correct n this Brian. Inner cap puller to take the cap apart and there is another tool [ can not recall the name of the tool as I am a little foggy right now as I just woke up to start my day.] Always doing the research before doing any work on any pen that I have. I'm no [ PRIMITIVE PETE ] ! Never heard of him? In High School Auto Shop class watched a film about using the correct tool for the any job. Example : you would not use a screwdriver as a pry bar, you would use a pry bar.

Stuart Hawkinson makes the best tool for removing the 51 clutch and then after you remove the jewel and clip, the inner cap just pops out, but that is slightly derailing the conversation. :)

Brian,

It is just the inner cap puller. I do not have the clutch pulling tool. That's another $100+. So Ken I CAN fix your dented caps, but they will be returned with a mangled clutch :lticaptd:

You're bringing back great memories of my '66 Ford truck (3 inna tree also). It came with a stock mangled clutch! When I got it the clutch was so worn that it engaged about 1 1/2 inches from the floor. Didn't take long for me to finish the job :P

My car was call the white ghost. Paid $250 and did not have a radio in it until I put one in in '78-'79. Then my 2nd car was a '76 Chevy Nova. I wish I still had that one.
