... I can see an "Awesome Amber" in that line up...

Same here about cats.

Cats are easy ... most don't survive cat v. vehicle impacts ...

My vote goes for this, in powder form. Saturated lavenders are not easy to come by, so it has the potential to really add something unique to someone's ink collection.

Noodler's Manhattan Blue used to be an Art Brown exclusive ink. After Art's went under, it became available at Fountain Pen Hospital so there is a precedent for transferring "ownership" of an exclusive ink from one "owner" to another. Since it seems that there is a desire on the part of FPN members for these inks to remain available, but there is no corresponding desire to do the administrative part, could we contact a friend of the board such as Anderson Pens, isellpens, or Goulet Pens and explore having one of them take over the inks? And by "we" I mean that person or persons in the FPN hierarchy who are authorized to make such contact.

There are more than that precedent... Whaleman Sepia was originally a Jet Pen exclusive. Jet Pen did not close down, but at one point decided to stop selling Noodlers. You can still buy a bottle at Goulet's nowadays.

Thus, transferring an "exclusive" ink is not unheard of.

I don't speak for the FPN administration on this matter, but I can tell you that I would be opposed to FPN transferring ownership of the inks UNLESS FPN decided to never offer them for sale, ever again.

I would say that you can just ask the friendly mods you see about selling the inks again. I'll respond that I know members want them.

I have asked, err posted on a few threads, and I know I sent a few pm's with no real response. I think I also read that there was an admin how was under the weather or didn't have the extra capacity to contend with batching up orders and so on (which I understand)

Is FPN going to offer the 3 noodler ink colors again? Say, in the next 2 years, so by DC pen show of 2016? It's ok if the answer is no, I'm just curious

I sure hope so, and I've been pushing for it to happen.

I am down to my last fill of Starry Night. This is not good. I was certain that FPN was still selling the inks.

I have tried others but nothing measures up to Starry Night. I might as well give up on fountain pens. Without VGSN, it won't be the same

Starry Night IS a very nice colour, although it does not always behave on all papers.

But as they say: No one is irreplaceable.... which also goes for inks

I know Wim is working on possibilities, but perhaps there will be other FPN inks. But don't hold your breath

Edit: try Pelikan Tanzanite. I like it very much.

I crave a Black Hole Blue. Working on one. If it feathers, I use a really fine nib.

I accidentally made a black hole green. Drew from the wrong color bottle. Put it in a Pilot Prera fine.

Testing the powdered blue in Lalalaw's Esterbrook stub. Interesting blue.

I missed the boat apparently on Starry Night blue. I was fixated on nibs, and you can't do everything at the same time.

Blue Black is much more green. Manhattan blue is closer.

What would you say is the closest ink to Starry Night?

Check this thread. Lots of discussion but not much resolution.

Ellis Island is fairly close. Unless you put them side by side... ;)

So, just in case you all were wondering, we are trying to put together another FPN exclusive ink. At a minimum, we will have a group buy of the KWZI ink.

Why are we putting together a NEW ink, when we can't get the old inks back online?

I think if this thread has accomplished anything it has proven that there is a need/want.

Incidentally there were some real nice earthy Art Brown inks that will probably never see the light of day. I would love to try "Noodlers Brooklyn Brawn" an Art Brown exclusive.

control

I can't control the decisions or choices of others. I can only control my actions. Despite any appearances to the contrary, I do not control FPN. (For that matter, I don't control Inky Thoughts - I control my own thoughts, sometimes).

Back to the inks - DCRoe and I have really tried to bring an ink forward that would generate a small profit for FPN and would be exclusive.

So there you have it. I cannot control wether or not the original Noodler's FPN inks will be made. I can heavily influence whether or not FPN will have a new ink with a new manufacturer. Sadly, I do not control that either.
