What pen is your Holy Grail?

Faber-Castell Pen Of The Year 2008 with the satinwood herringbone pattern.

MSRP $2000

The sword is mightier than the pen. However, swords are now obsolete whereas pens are not.

1. Graf von Faber-Castell Pen of the Year 2005 Stingray :notworthy1:

2. Cartier Dandy Gold Foil

3. MB Virginia Woolf

4. MB 149

Now that I think about it the 149 is the only one that I think could ever be in my price range...Sigh. I don`t guess it hurts to dream.

Here's mine. It's not exactly the rarest or the most expensive, but I love the way it looks. As soon as I can save up the money...

I photoshopped the clip and nib on this photo to look like rhodium, which is what I'll want to get when the time comes. I also want Ishime Kanshitsu on the section, but I couldn't find a filter to imitate that option without making the picture look ridiculously fake.  Still, I'm sure you get the idea.

I really fancy, but have never held, the Conway Stewart FPs. Really need to know what their nibs are like before I buy.

Only the pure in heart may find the Holy Grail. To be pure in heart, one must be free from desire. Therefore, be content. Here endeth the lesson.

The pens on my list turn up at the same time I can afford them only when I don't think about them for some time, so it's true.

*runs off to erase "I want" from the heading of said and replace it with "wouldn't it be nice if I had"*

  • 4 weeks later...

I am in shock. When I posted in this forum listing some dream pens, I had absolutely no idea I would get one of them this soon.

I managed to get a Sheaffer PFM III in black, with an F nib! A good friend let me have it on lay-away.

*does the dance of joy*

*does not dare look at the list again until this one is full paid for*

The IB is much like a MB stubbish B or BB and I want more. :puddle: Dunno about the other sizes.

So far, on all of the new Conway Stewarts I have, the nibs have been smooth and moderately wet.

I've had some Grail pens... Parker Senior Duofold; Parker 100: Parker Duofold Citrine Check and Parker T1 (and some more). I got all this and I think I'll try to sell the T1. I buy pens for writing (collecting also, but I like writing with them) and I'm really afraid to damage the tip of the T1...

Now...

I'd love to get a Copper Duofold replica from Chris Thompson... But I just can't contact him... No reply to my e-mails...

My holy grail is the VP in Raden. But I already posted a topic about it cause I was not aware of this topic

Just received one of my grail pens today - a danitrio raw ebonite densho with an ef flexy nib! and another's on the way Bexley 2009 OC in olive

Other pens would be, both accessible and slightly less so:

- Waterman No.7 red and pink nibs

- Parker 51 flighter

- VP Raden

- Edson Pearl in Red/Black Ebonite

- Nakaya portable in Heki-Tame

and lots more besides...

Well, it would have to be a 1921 Parker Duofold with the classic red hard rubber body. :puddle: Nearlly impossible to find in Fine nib within a reasonable price range.
