What pen is your Holy Grail?

I thought I had replied here. My holy grail pen is the pen with the sayings of buddha inscribed. I think by Pilot? I've seen them with the lettering raised or engraved and in several different colors.

Oddly enough I couldn't locate one on the internet to show what I mean. I've also seen them in sets with ball point and pencil too.

And I actually let one of these slip through my fingers... it was on the green board on PT at what was a reasonable price, just a bit too high for me at the time... sigh...

One of these pens, Skyppere? :) "Wow" pens, those...

Ooops... my post got put on the thread from which the picture was taken. Anyway, yes, those are the ones although I think there's an earlier version. I can't open Stan's picture... I have a picture of them in my Pen Scrapbook just to remind me.

My "Grail" pen is, for sure, a Delta Pompeii.

I let one get away a few years ago, and I've been kicking myself ever since.

Saw one listed on the Bay as a buy it now. If it's still there...

It's never been just one pen for me. Since I have a price ceiling I will spend per pen, many times a pen I want is beyond my reach, and patience accompanied by diligent searching is required.

For a while I sought a blue auroloide Aurora Optima to replace one I had to sell back in June 2002 to pay medical expenses. I always just missed the ones for sale in my price range. Finally found one I could afford a year and a half ago.

I could never find an affordable Pelikan 100 until last December.

A marine green OS Sheaffer Balance has been near the top of the list for quite a while. Got one back in February.

A black/gold piston fill modern Aurora 88 to replace one I foolishly sold in December 2002 has been pushed down the list by various other pens over the years, but resurfaced near the top several months ago. I was able to find one in March.

I have wanted a burgundy/black streamline Parker Duofold Jr. for a while, and I have just arranged a trade for one.

So, I have been doing pretty good lately at obtaining pens that have been on the wish list for a while. I would still like to have a rosewood HR Wahl one day.

I think forum member printhardcopy "may" still have an M200 "clear Green" Demo FS, if you'd be interested.

Also saw that he had an M205 clear Demo at one time, if I'm not mistaken.

The clear Blue Demos seem to be the first ones to sell-out of the Demo line of M200s.

If not listed, maybe PM him and ask if they're still available?

Just a thought; have heard only good things about him as a Pelikan seller.

They flow across paper as a brush to canvas, transforming my thoughts into words and my words into art.

There is nothing else like it; the art of writing and the painting of words!”

My theoretical Holy Grail could be a piston filler Sailor 1911 ... best of both worlds :P

Still waiting ...

I have a junior from 1928 and have on hold a Duofold senior special which i hope to pick up in the next couple of weeks. A Parker Duofold Lucky 8 for my modern lust, and a Parker Duofold from the 20's or 30's for my antique lust.

I am ready to order a hand made Nakaya Pen. I have been giving up going to Starbuck & lunches out for 2.5 years, & I am amazed how much money coffee & junk food just added up.

I contacted the folks there & after several emails (to customized my order) they confirmed it will take 2 months; I can hardly waited... :bonk: :bonk:

By the rate you are bonking, your head will be a bloody pulp when the pen arrives :roflmho:

A double-jeweled, Sterling-capped Parker "51". I'm not telling what color, because I'm too close to being able to afford it!*

Maybe I have a too prosaic view on pens to have a real grail, but Nakaya is close to it. Handicrafted & special.

Actually I have 2. My grail pen is a Montblanc Oscar Wilde, and the next (almost equal) is the Pelikan Blue Ocean. :cloud9:
