Susemai Green Diamond had some problems, for me, at 16% dilution. The color and shading were nice, but though wet enough to bleed through the Staples Brazil made composition book paper, it would dry very quickly on the nib. Like between words. And left in the pen, overnight, it created more crystallization on the nib than I've seen with any other in.

 

But when diluted 1:1 with distilled water making an 8% solution it didn't crystallize anymore and didn't dry out so quickly in the feed.

at 8% this is a really bright, spring-like green. Lots of shading.

I'm bummed Susemai is not making this one right now...but if the Cashmere line is a success, then Susemai said that the Diamond lines would be considered.

Looks fantastic. It very much reminds me of my sample batch of Noodler's Hunter, which stays very vibrant unlike other reports.

I emptied my Green Diamond vial, just about 4ml, and swirled the pipette and got the dregs out with about half a ml of water; thus my sample's concentration is 12.6%; a few more drops of water and I estimate it to be 12%. This is what I have indicated in the write-ups.

The ink is wonderfully well-behaved (see the scan) - it's such I pity I do not like the color and can't find a way to like it more.

And it has sheen like you wouldn't believe - in the bottle, even.

The scan does not seem to reproduce the yellow undertone of this ink. In fact if the color were anything like in this scan, I would love it!

I thought it wants some blue, so I tried adding some of my new blues: KWZI blue #3. I ended up adding 14ml of blue to 1ml of Diamond green, and it's still too yellow for me... See here.

Again, I think my scanner does the correction I'd want my eyes to do. The ink is yellower on the paper than is shown in the scan.

It is better than unmixed, but not terribly.

Shading and sheen make this interesting...

Oh yes, absolutely - don't mind my sometimes short formulations...

It's not a problem if sometimes you don't like the color - searching for a mix with good properties and great color is an adventure in itself, and one I can't usually pass up... But I am still trying to find a color I like with the Green Diamond. It seems to overwhelm even at 1:14 with blue ink, it's amazing!

 

I have now finished all of the Susemai pipettes' review. Still formulating the one for Green Cashmere, but it's basically done. And I do like that color, unmixed.

So, thanks again for having me play!

That looks like total evaporation to me. The dye just precipitated out because there was no water left.

I'd try adding some back and see what happens.

Mine did not go quite as far, because when the liquid thickened, I added water. I'll have to look at some of them again, but IIRC, after adding water, I just used them like normal, and nothing untoward happened.

Since it's been so desiccated, you may want to use warm water, and/or let the solution sit for a while...

I do still use mine, occasionally.
