I understand your problem.... I am not rich either.... I live in North Tyrol and it is hard to buy inks here.... Same as in Bozen or Brixen.... I have checked Arthesia.... Just a poor offer of inks there too.

Yeah, Athesia is pretty awful for fountain pens. Mostly 4001 and Online stuff, but mostly geared towards school stuff. I managed to get some MontBlanc, maybe a Lamy bottle out of them, but depending on the mood of the sales clerk it can take some coaxing…

Interestingly enough, a few years back I managed to get a bottle of Platignum ink from somewhere around here. All I wanted was any bottle of green ink; this was the only one they found after some minutes of searching. I believe it was ‘neon green’ or somethink like that, but unfortunately I can’t remember which shop that might have been… Too bad that this bottle is long gone now…

There is a special De Atramentis offer in the making. 4=3 meaning buy 4 bottles you only ay 3... This might soften the pain of shipping costs a little... Maybe ordering over the de Atramentis Website is cheaper the owner Dr Franz-Josef Jansen has special rates for shipping....

I will be in cntact wth Dr Jansen today and ask him about shipping costs. The discount thing will come later...

That sounds interesting, that might indeed soften the blow. At the moment the Atramentis shop has the most expensive shipping costs of anything that I found, but also the widest selection by far.

But it’s nice to know that time’ll work in my favour, so I’ll wait to see what happens. :o)

I just spoke with De Atramentis on the telephone.

Shippng costs if ordering over De Atramentis

1 Kilo € 12,90 this is 4 bottles the rest is the weight of the packing material.

2 Kilo € 13,40

3 kilo € 13,90

Ah, this is actually good news, especially if taken together with that 4=3 deal you mentioned.

Does this apply to shipping to Italy as well or is this only for Austria?

Hope this will help you De Atramentis carries 255 inks ( that is 65 kilo haha)

So that’d ‘only’ amount to somewhere around 3500€ for all of them for a total of almost nine litres of ink. If I had that kind of money, the order would already be out, but then my friends probably would admit me into an insane asylum… :o)

But this does give me kind of an half-baked idea though; I think I might have to do some thinking… ^^

As to your Prosecco suggestion: I’d certainly be open for that! Maybe give me a shout out when you are in the area, though I cannot offer any interesting inks in return—yet. :o)

Servus Dumartlon,

The 4=3 thing is still work in progress, will let you know when I know more about it....

By the way we have a very good psychiattic clinic in Hall in Tirol. Maybe we can go together and do some creative therapy with inks :-)

(strange can't insert smilies with my tablet only with pc...

Just a question of interest do you speak German or Italian or do you maybe have the patentino

Anyway will let you know when I visit Bozen. But you are more than welcom here too. Have about 25 Inks to test..

More important the Prosecco is in the fridge :-)

I love tokajer wine.... I wonder if it's possible to make ink out of it

Hi Visamitra,

I spoke with Dr Jansen of De Atramentis yesterday.....

He already made an Ink out of Riesling in the Past. He said it has to be a white wine with a strong yellow-green tone in it in order to make ink out of it. It will still be a very light ink I think.... Less Saturated than Kaweco Black :-) :-)

Dr Jansen absolutely loved the idea of Making an Ink out of Tokajer.... He told me that he will experiment wiht this soon....

Well just wait and drink a glass of Tokajer in the mean time (they have some fine Tokajers in Alsace France)....

Na Zdrowie
