Pilot Nib Sizes In Millimeters?

(I apologize if this should go in the Japanese pen forum!!)

I currently own Pilot Metropolitans in F and M nibs, and I'm trying to find out what size, in millimeters, they are so that I can find pens in other brands of the same size (or, ideally, somewhere between the two sizes).

I've seen a bit of handwriting comparisons, but it would be much easier for me, I think, if I actually knew the nib measurements. I'm currently eyeing a Franklin-Christoph pen, but F-C lists the nib measurements on their site, so I'd like to do a comparison.

Anyone have any idea? Thanks!

Have you looked at Gouletpens.com? They've got a useful nib-width comparison tool at the Nib Nook.

That's odd because my F Pilot nibs tend to write like a .5mm gel pen. I assume that line widths are also affected by nib wetness, ink, paper, etc.

Thanks for the chart, I was trying to find one like this before.

Thanks for the chart, Hari. And yes, line width is definitely affected by ink wetness and paper, but it is nice to know these nib widths. Thanks again.

Here is a line width chart in mm extracted from the Pilot catalog. HTH.

Thanks so much for this; it's really useful.

Can we assume by this Pilot attempts to keep things consistent even across different nib sizes? That is, a fine Metropolitan nib, a fine VP nib, and a fine Custom 823 should reasonably conform to 0.32 mm, even though they are all different?
