Thanks Pen2Paper It is an interesting case from an interesting company.

Papworth industries started as a tuberculosis colony in 1917 using "Pendragon" as a brand name from the 1930's to the 1970's when they changed to Papworth travel goods. In 1997 they became part of Swaine Adeney Brigg and still produce fine leather goods to this day. The Hospital is also still in operation too.

It is quite easy to read the "Pendragon" logo inside so I can safely say this case was made before 1970 when the brand name changed so the case is at least 47 years old

Such beautiful work Michael!

Is it fair for an intelligent and family oriented mammal to be separated from his/her family and spend his/her life starved in a concrete jail?

Thanks Anne-Sophie thanks for you comments and to everyone else who has posted here.

Restoring cases gives me a lot of pleasure and I think they are very robust the last two I have restored are still here.

Although to be honest I have not tried too hard to sell them.

Thanks again

Michael

great work my63

I love seeing old things restored.

Just a quik question, do you apply leather oil or any such stuff to revive dried up leather ?

Hi T M Lee yes I do use a couple of products Mink oil and Aussie leather conditioner.

I remove all of the old stitching and clean out the insides. I don't do anything to alter the colour of the outside.

I guessed as much

If I may, I'd like to introduce you to Obenaufs Leather Oil ?

Amazing

Just amazing :notworthy1:

They do have the butter like your Fiebings Aussie Leather Conditioner too.

The dried up leather just drinks the oil and the effect is almost immediate. Becoming soft and supple. :puddle:

You can even apply the oil on the wrong side of the leather !

You'd probably have heard of it.

But anyway, just sharing my little excitement. :-)

Warm regards

ps, you can do a websearch on reviews or even on youtube ...
