Five Wancher Inks

As I received samples of all Wancher colors I thought I'll make comparison. Full text of my comparison can be found on Polish fountain pen forum. However you don't have to read it, colors have language of their own. I hope that you'll like it.

ASUKA BROWN: nice but dull shade of brown. Too little shading for my taste.

EBINE VIOLET: this one is really cool.

IMARI BLUE: saturated blue. More than decent.

TENMOKU BLACK: black with brown accents. I hate black ink so I see nothing interesting here.

Summary

I like these inks. My two favourites are Ebine Violet + Imari Blue.

My choice of these examples would be the Imari Blue.

I have the Ebine, Imari and Matcha. I have found them to be quite lubricating, especially the Imari. I find it particularly useful in a dryish fine-nibbed pen, as it reduces nib dry-out.

I voted for two -- the Imari Blue and the Ebine Violet. The colors of the other three didn't grab me the way those two did.

I have the Imari Blue and Ebine Violet. Both have been a pleasant experience because I bought them very inexpensively and because the inks perform very well.

The green looks interesting as well.

I have feathering issues with both the Imari Blue and Matcha Green, but not the Ebine. Did you notice any performance issues? It was particularly bad with the Matcha Green. I was mainly trying the inks out on Rhodia with Japanese Fine nibs, and experience no issues with other inks using this combination.

@Nonsensical - I've just used them in Pilot 78G broad nib and they all behaved well.

Well, I've now tried out these inks. They are nice, fairly well behaved and certainly easy to use. If you are can find them for a good price, you won't be disappointed. Thank you Vis for the terrific comparison. When I saw the Asuka Brown, I was sure my color was off. The Brown is much more purple when it is wet. I actually like it.

I haven't really worked with the other inks much ( I have the Matcha Green, Imari Blue and Ebine Violet) but I did find that the Imari Blue was so wet and lubricating that it brought a stubbornly dry extra-fine nibbed hooded chinese pen to life.

i have a bottle of the Macha Green. it reminds me a lot of J. Herbin's Vert Empire. I like it alot and I got a large bottle (i think about 100 ml) for just 8 or 9 USD

Just bought 3 bottles of 100ml from ebay seller, US$8 each including shipping from Japan. Brown, violet and green.
