I'm glad it's in! Was so worried that it got lost. And thank you for the kind words! I hope you like the little details I added on the envelope :) But the envelope's a little crumpled XD Maybe I should go with a conventional and smaller envelope next time. Any comments?

A sincere man am I
From the land where palm trees grow,
And I want before I die
My soul's verses to bestow.

All those moments will be lost in time.
Like tears in rain.
Time to die.

Anything is bound to get a little bit marred in the mail. Its not a big deal, kinda adds to the charm...you can tell it's been halfway around the world :)

Well, the smaller the envelope, the smaller the chance of it getting marred XD I shall test this hypothesis out in the next letter ;)

On a side note, I'm looking forward to your reply, Drake!

Many thanks to nonstickron for starting this.

I received a captivating letter from an intrepid woman from 1864, preparing to embark on a voyage of discovery.

This is brimming with potential.

Thanks again!

Hmmm, stuck as I am in 12th century Jerusalem, I would love to see this thread resurrected!

Oh, glories, this sounds wonderful. I'd love to participate in such an exchange. Arthur Conan Doyle comes to mind, as do some of the heroes of the old norse sagas as while those are heavily fictionalized, they were likely based on real people. Ragnar Lodbrook, Sigurd perhaps. Anyone who's interested send me a message indicating whom you'd be interested in writing as!

Hello, this is an awesome idea!

Is anyone still doing this? If so I would love to participate in this! I have to do some research on some characters that I have in mind, but it sounds fun!

I love, love, LOVE this idea! I have been wanting to do something similar for a long time but never had the nerve to ask anyone. I thought - silly me - who wants to adopt a personality that isn't theirs and write a fictional persona.

This is excellent! I would love to join in if anyone is interested. Let's definitely resurrect! I definitely would have to do some research.

Would it be a group conversation? Or one on one penpals? Or a traveling letter/journal?

If there's anyone out there who would be interested in doing this still, I would absolutely love to do some world war era (either war works for me) correspondence between a soldier and their sweetheart back home!

Or anything, really. This is just super duper cool.
