Matte Black Fountain Pens

I love matte black. I think it makes everything look better. It's even more spectacular when the whole thing is matte black.

Fountain pens look incredible in matte black, too.

The Pilot Vanishing Point, Parker Urban, Faber-Castell E-Motion, Monteverde Invincia, Lamy Safari and Parker Premier all look stunning in this colour.

Are there any pens that I missed? What's your opinion on flat/matte/muted/matt black?

Aurora Talentum had a rubberised matte black. Then there is the Visconti Homo Sapiens. And our own Fountainbel designed some of his CONID Bulkfillers in matte black Delrin.

edit: I also have a Parker Sonnet in matte black.

I agree. Matte Black is very non obtrusive and classic.

Franklin-Christoph, Italix, and Pilot pens are the best!
Iroshizuku, Diamine, and Waterman inks are my favorites!

Apica, Rhodia, and Clairefontaine make great paper!

If you would consider something that isn't 100% black, the Lamy 2000 would be my choice. The metal on it is brushed, not chrome, so it goes well with the matte black finish of the pen.

I like the matte black for understated elegance. What is cool is the clip and nib are also black.

The gloss black sometimes seems more fancy than I want a pen to look.

Back in the old days, pens were made of hard rubber. I wonder if they made many in matte black, sort of like car tires?

I only have one Matt Black pen, and it is the Fiber Castell E Motion Matt Black......I find this pen very stimulating! It, to me, sends a signal of muscle, strength and power! Not to leave out it's manliness......If there is such a word, ha, ha, ha........

The old version of the Waterman Hemisphere came in a matte black finish with either gold or chrome trim. I love the classic timelessness that the matte finish conveys. It is understated, elegant.

Here's the Lamy 2000, a first generation model that is only slightly different from later versions. I love look of the brushed black Makrolon, and it might be manly enough for ChiTown!

I have a Summit S100 made of black hard rubber with a unique chasing pattern that gives something close to a matte look:

Here you can see a detail of the chasing pattern on the cap:

Apart from my Lamy 2k, I also have three Jinhaos in matt black - 601, X-450 and X-750, although they have gold or chrome fittings.

I also rather like the slightly steampunk look of the X-750.

Usually I prefer silver or chrome pens, but there are some matte black pens I really like. I think design-wise the Levenger L-tech is my favorite.

The Lamy Studio is also available in Matte Black, but I find the finish scratches easily where the clip touches the cap. Really annoying, as I love the pen itself.

Lamy has several in matte black: Safari, CP1, 2000, Dialog3, perhaps more.

But they are not stealth in being all black including nib and trim.

There are several Indian pens with matte black ebonite bodies:
