This movie contains a brief history of writing from the use of pictures to the development and use of letters as well as a brief history of the development of pens. In addition, the movie includes a discussion of the function and workings of fountain pens and some filler systems. Of course, since the movie was made by the W. A. Sheaffer Pen Company, Sheaffer fans should particularly enjoy it.

I saw that! There's also another one on there that is for the sales force about how they make a lot for the war effort and because of that, they can't make many pens. I thought it was really interesting seeing shots of the inside of their factories.

Yeah, the Prelinger Archives is a great thing. A lot of stuff is getting preserved that might otherwise have joined a lot of old time radio and early TV shows in the landfill, or, as in the case of a lot of Doctor Who episodes, worse.
