Lamy Lady

JF_LAMY Collection

Recommended Posts

Dear all,

I got my first fountain pen at the age of 12 when my parents gave me a white LAMY Safary. I liked the pen, but lost it after a while. Many years later, I remembered this pen and bought myself a new one. Then I bought an old LAMY 27e, had it restored and three years ago started my own LAMY collection. Today, I would like to share with you the latest addition to this collection: LAMY lady set.

The pen was designed by Wolfgang Fabian, and was first introduced in 1994. There are two different designs in two different colors as far as I am aware. There is a fountain pen and a ball point pen in all four styles. What is unique about this pen is the material:

“ … These are the first writing instruments in the world to be made of real porcelain. Its sensual attraction lies in the velvety translucency of its surface, which can act as the medium for tasteful decorative motifs … “

“ … Special porcelain made by Rosenthal was used for the body of the LAMY lady writing instruments. It not only possesses the widely-appreciated aesthetic characteristics of this material but is also hard and unbreakable … “ (www.lamy.de)

LAMY is still an underestimated brand. Some of the earlier models are beautiful.

I will post more LAMY pens later on, and you will see how well and carefully they are made.

And THANK YOU for your comment

Those are beauties. I seem to remember Brian Goulet featured the Lamy lady on one of his videos and called it 'The Golden Cow' because of the pattern...

oh, that's right, here it is!

I'd dearly love one, but they are a little above my usual spending level. Maybe the car-booting and junk-store gods will smile on me sometime :-)

Too many pens, too little time!

I got really lucky with the pen. The auction was ending at an unattractive time, and people did not bid. The BPP was a different story, but I just had to have it for my collection. “The golden cow” … ? One of the Skoda colors was called “The golden pig” J

Thank you :-) I will try to post my pens regularly. Some are new, some are already restored, and some still need to have the pictures taken. But hopefully, I will have time to work on them … Jan
