Ok, since nobody will bite….

From the movie Serenity, based on the Firefly series.

A space flick, with a small following.

 

The “Fruity Oaty Bar” advertisement contained a subliminal trigger that turned sweet little River Tam into a kick-A fighting machine.

The advert has an octopus that I shortened the tentacles and turns from pink octo to blue inky.

Miranda is the last words River speaks before the mayhem starts.

 

Sorry if this was too off the wall for this thread.

I love you! BTW, my daughter got it.

Well I think I have maybe found the thread all my own. It's the one about the teeny tiny octocritter from off the California coast?

For some reason it made me think of an old SF story written by a friend of my mom's. Scientists find an alien lifeform that bears an amazing resemblance to a Moebius Strip. They're aren't sure whether it's sentient or not (they don't want to cause an intergalactic incident) but it doesn't seem to respond to any known form of language. Finally, somewhat in desperation, one of the scientists puts it in a container with a Klein bottle....

The rest of the story is that the Moebius strip alien wrapped itself around the Klein bottle and said "MAMA!" :lol:

Turned out that it didn't know languages because it was only a baby.... ;)

Here's something I ran across a few months ago -- I take no credit for the image, I'm just the photographer here. Had to crop the image some to get it to the Upload size limit, once I had the nice man in the Apple store give me a quick run through yesterday on how to port photos from my iPhone (I was on the right track by using the USB end of the power cable, but....).

Once this works maybe then I can upload the photos of a couple of pens I got last week to the relevant forums (fora? I never remember if that's a Greek or Latin derivation, so I never know how to pluralize it -- and the 5 years of Conversational German between middle-school and high school don't help at ALL...).

As for this photo, I spotted this building in Pittsburgh's Lawrenceville neighborhood, just across the street (well one of them) from the Doughboy statue at the fork between Penn Avenue and Butler Streets. And *immediately* thought of this thread, so I *had* to get a picture of it. :thumbup:
