OK, and one more. Poor guy is trying to figure out the contract between King Ferdinand of Aragon and Queen Isabella of Castille and the litigious Christopher Columbus about what he'd get for stealing claiming land for them in the Western Hemisphere...

 

Colors: Rouge Hematite, Wild Strawberry, Blu Mare.

Having never seen the original before, not me, certainly. Thanks for posting this.

I love all the little details that you have to look for: the palette being refilled by that standing gadget with the nozzle; the wire or thread connecting the paintbrush to the guitar (? musical instrument, anyway); the way the magnifying glass is acting as a prism of the starlight....

Wim just created a work around and a wrote an explanation for what has happened.

Ok, we now know that this avatar lark was caused by a very recent security update, as a stopgap measure for hackers to use images to gain access.

 

Anyway, this will be fixed in the next release, and no announcement has been made yet to availability.

 

In the mean time, we have established a workaround, it is as follows.

  1. Open your profile, go to the picture, click on Change.
  2. Next, go to the top of the page, and click on the Upload tab (it is underneath the header, next to the Classifieds and Blog Tabs).
  3. A new window or tab opens now, and use this facility to Upload a new avatar. When done, it will show 3 lines of code. Normally, in messages, we'd use the middle one, BBCode, but in this case we'll use the top one, Direct Link. Just hover it, and it becomes selected automatically.
  4. Now copy, and
  5. go back to the other window or browser tab, where the Avatar window was open.
  6. Paste the copied link into the "Import a photo from a url" field,
  7. and click the Import button.

 

Done.

Nice eye for detail! Yes, Varo's work is truly extraordinary. Since she lived and painted in Mexico (she left Spain after the Civil War), a lot of people want to make a comparison between her and her more famous compatriot, Frida Kahlo. But the two work in such different ways, that the comparison doesn't make any sense. They're both wonderful, so there's no need to talk about one being superior to the other.
