Iridium Point Germany On A Monteverde Invincia

I just ordered a Monteverde Invincia from eBay and the nib doesn't have the Monteverde's engraving. The seller told me that are old Monteverde stocks from 3 years back. I've seen that kind of nib in a lot of handmade custom pens here, how well do these nibs behave?

Thanks.

Careful when buying a bird.. you'll end up with a flock before you know it.

Every Invincia I've seen has the Monteverde branded nib on them. I am not an expert though, so there may be some that are generic.

As for how it works - chances are both that nib and the Monteverde nibs are made in the same factory so there probably won't be any difference in writing.

Well if it writes good I'm happy

I have never seen such a nib. Not in a Monteverde (of any age) nor in any other pen/brand.

Chances are the source is, yes, in some far east factory.

Question now is how do you like its performance when actual writing?

Mm, sound pretty unusual, the seller wanted to withdraw the listing when I sent him the email concerning this specific nib, but I requested to purchase it anyway since I like the two tone nib.

The early Invincias had a smaller #5 size nib that was a generic IPG. Some time back I replaced one on my tartania colored Invincia with a newer, larger #6 Monteverde branded one.

So this pen has a #5 nib but a #6 could also fit in there right?

I actually bought a whole section with housing/nib/feed for it directly from them, but I believe you can get away with using the same section. You definitely will need at least the housing and feed for a #6.
