Burping Prera

Uncial

Recommended Posts

I use my Pilot Prera as an eyedropper. It's the green demonstrator that I fill with Kobe no.19 and I think it looks quite cool. I even like the white, semi-opaque cap that others despise. It's a decent little cheapy and I've had fun with it for a while, but lately it has been burping; burping a lot. I suspect it has something to do with the way the cap is held in place. Has anyone else found this, and might there be a solution?

How full is the barrel when it 'burps'? Or how much heat are you generating by holding it? The pressure inside can force the ink out.

It happens regardless of how full or empty it is. I know that when you get to a certain ink level, some eyedroppers can burp. This one does it repeatedly. It might be heat of my hand, but I wondered if the cap (which creates a kind of suction feeling when closing and opening) might be exacerbating it.

Hi,

If it leaks all the time like that, it may be that the pen leaks air into the reservoir. A lot of pens that weren't initially designed to be used as eyedroppers have either venting by design or inadvertent, or things that keep the threads from being completely airtight.
